Terra Nullius

Hello world! I’m a journalist and editor working on a book about the places in the world where the rules don’t (fully) apply: outer space, art freeports, tax havens, and the high seas, to name a few. Terra nullius (“no-man’s land”) is an occasional newsletter on the same subject. I’ll be sharing stories about sovereignty, extraterritoriality, and the law, as well as books, papers, and conversations that are helping me understand the world above, beneath, and between nations.
